Galvanized Staples (U Shape-Nails) are a simple, effective and affordable option for installing netting onto a timber surface.
The U-Nails can be attached directly to the netting, however Catnets recommends "edging" your net beforehand with edging rope to create a neat and strong seam.
The U-Nails are then placed over the rope and net and hammered into position.
U-Nails are generally spaced at 4 inches apart when used in conjunction with the edging rope.

U-Nails perfect for securing cat net!
We used catnetting to turn our balcony into a secure cat area. The U-Nails were the perfect size to tack down the rope/net to the composite deck. They were a bit tricky getting started (with our skill set), but by holding each with needle nosed pliers, we hammered them in and the net is secure from even our most mischievous kitty!

U-Nails are a little difficult to work with
I feel they could stand to be a hair longer to put over the twine edging. They went in nicely on the side of my patio but the thicker wood on top and bottom was tough to get started when the nail is so small around the twine.
